Job summary

Smartstream Limited in Bristol is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer for a 6-month FTC to own and secure the Microsoft 365 tenant across the global business. You will lead Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams, Entra ID, Copilot, and automation with PowerShell and Graph, mentoring juniors and collaborating with Information Security and Global IT.

Hybrid role with 3 days in the office, driving security, governance, and cost optimisation across licensing and vendor

Qualifications

Strong Exchange Online management and configuration, including Exchange security and DLP.
Solid mail flow and email security knowledge (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, connectors, transport rules, DNS).
Extensive management of SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams.
Experience administering Copilot for Microsoft 365, including governance and adoption.
Strong Entra ID knowledge.
Advanced PowerShell and Graph scripting for automation.
Experience integrating SaaS apps with Microsoft 365.
Know-how on Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and deployment.
Experience licensing across a global estate with Microsoft partners.

Responsibilities

Own the Microsoft 365 platform end-to-end, including security posture and service health.
Manage Exchange Online mail flow with hybrid connectors and anti-spam/anti-phishing controls.
Govern SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams provisioning, sharing, sensitivity labels and retention.
Lead rollout and administration of Copilot for Microsoft 365, data readiness and adoption.
Administer Entra ID — identity lifecycle, RBAC and external access governance.
Develop and maintain PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation for provisioning and reporting.
Design SaaS integrations with Microsoft 365 (SSO, provisioning, Graph).
Own tenant backup and recovery for Microsoft 365 workloads.
Act as escalation point for Microsoft 365 matters and lead security incident response.
Mentor junior team members and produce self-service docs and runbooks.
