Job summary

Aurora Energy Research in Oxford is seeking a senior engineer to join the Engineering Team within Internal Technology. You will provide deep expertise across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and own delivery of projects, governance, and improvements.

You will work with business users to design effective solutions, document SOPs, and help drive efficiency as Aurora expands internationally. The role is hybrid with collaboration across teams and a focus on staff experience.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with the design and delivery of Microsoft 365 solutions (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) and Windows.
• Experience with Entra ID and Intune / Microsoft Endpoint Manager (identity governance, managed endpoint lifecycle).
• Ability to own and deliver large, complex technical projects end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph for automation and reporting.
• Experience creating and maintaining knowledge articles, SOPs, and process documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the business.

Responsibilities

• Deliver proactive engineering excellence across the Internal Technology function.
• Advise and implement Microsoft 365 solutions across Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Windows, Entra ID.
• Collaborate to optimise Microsoft configurations in line with business goals and improve employee experience.
• Lead projects from requirements to successful delivery, managing technical risk.
• Own specific systems within the Microsoft ecosystem and maintain high availability.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
