Job summary

Convatec is seeking a Senior Scientist, Microbiology to join the Applied Research team in Biomedical Sciences. You will lead microbiology programs, focusing on antimicrobial testing, method development, and in-vitro models to support product claims and innovation.

The role is hands-on, with 70%+ time in the laboratory, collaborating across R&D, Regulatory, Clinical, Operations, and Global Laboratory Services to drive scientific discovery and patient impact.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Microbiology or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of industry microbiology experience in regulated environments.
• Hands-on laboratory work with microbiology techniques and assays.
• Experience designing, executing and interpreting microbiology studies and regulatory awareness.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute microbiology research programs.
• Conduct hands-on laboratory research and data interpretation.
• Develop and optimise microbiological methods and assays.
• Generate evidence to support antimicrobial product claims across Convatec portfolio.
• Communicate findings through technical reports and presentations.
