Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in children’s residential care, education, mental health rehabilitation, and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated individual to join as a Mental Health Practitioner. The role requires experience in residential and CAMHS settings, particularly with Looked After Children’s services and familiarity with consultation models.
Job Role
We seek a Mental Health Practitioner to implement a trauma-informed approach across our complex care residential services, working with young people with social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
If you possess excellent assessment skills and therapeutic consultation experience in residential or Looked After Children settings, this role offers a rewarding opportunity.

This role is dynamic and field-based. You will provide therapeutic services, conduct assessments, and formulate intervention plans to support trauma recovery and psychological understanding based on evidence-based practices. You will help young people in both school and home settings to recover from trauma and develop independence.
The role offers autonomy to assess needs, provide consultation and training, and engage in reflective practice.

Candidate Profile
Registered with HCPC, NMC, BACP, or equivalent.
Higher qualification in counselling, therapeutic support, psychotherapy, social work, or nursing.
Experience working with vulnerable youth in therapeutic settings.
Strong team player with excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to plan and deliver trauma-informed approaches and use consultation models.
Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties and complex needs of vulnerable youth.
Ability to work under pressure, assess and mitigate risks, and work autonomously or as part of a team.
Maintain professional boundaries, record-keeping, and demonstrate passion for working with at-risk youth.
Willingness to undertake relevant training and hold a full clean driving license, as travel may be required.
Beneficial
Experience with Looked After Children, trauma-informed diplomas, CAMHS, and interest in group development.
