Job Description:

Are you an innovative engineer eager to design the next generation of world-class fulfillment centers and logistics systems globally? Do you want a high level of ownership in solving complex problems? If designing intralogistics systems with groundbreaking automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and robotics excites you, then this is the role for you!

We are looking to add a high-impact engineer to our team in Europe/United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will have a background in creating high-performance physical systems, strong technical problem-solving skills, excellent project management abilities, and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment. You will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems, owning multiple projects from concept to design approval. You will be the primary technical contact for your projects with suppliers, and after design approval, you will transition the project to our Ops Engineering team for installation and commissioning, continuing to support the process to ensure successful system deployment.

Your projects will include greenfield sites, brownfield upgrades, and retrofits, involving fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, specialty facilities (e.g., reverse logistics, hazmat), and ground/air transportation centers across North America and Europe. Projects may be template-based or entirely custom-designed.

Key job responsibilities

  • Invent, design, and implement engineering solutions to complex material flow, transformation, and efficiency problems across the global Amazon supply chain.
  • Lead design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for fulfillment and transportation networks, including equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions within tight timeframes.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, influencing and negotiating with business partners, contractors, and vendors.
  • Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects.
  • Communicate vision, detailed roadmaps, and technical solutions effectively to senior executives to support business cases.

A day in the life

Amazon offers comprehensive benefits supporting you and your eligible family members, including domestic partners and children. Benefits vary by location, hours worked, employment length, and employment status. Typical benefits include:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
  • Maternity and Parental Leave Options
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

If your qualifications don't match every item on the list, we still encourage you to apply! We value diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skill sets. If you're passionate about this role and eager to make a global impact, we'd love to hear from you.

About the team

You will work with a team of highly skilled engineers in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment, designing the next generation of fulfillment centers and logistics systems. Expect high-impact, high-visibility projects that will challenge you, help you learn, and enable your growth.
