Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Senior Methods Engineer for the Sizewell C Civil Works Alliance in Ipswich with site visits to Suffolk as required. You will develop early-stage construction methodologies for the Nuclear Island scope, guiding design, programme strategy and overall project risk.

You will champion Safe by Design, lead a team of methods and digital engineers, and align with designers to ensure buildable, safe, and efficient solutions across the civils works.

Formación

• Degree in Civil Engineering with professional registration.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience on major civil engineering projects.
• Contractor-side delivery experience.
• Experience in the power and/or nuclear sector desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of early-stage construction methodologies for Nuclear Island permanent civils works, shaping design, programme and delivery strategy.
• Champion Safe by Design and engineered safety principles throughout concept stage.
• Manage, mentor and coordinate a team of methods and digital engineers, setting technical direction and standards.
• Produce initial construction method statements, sketches, model views and visualisations to support constructability.
• Act as primary construction engineering interface with designers to ensure buildable, efficient and safe solutions.
• Contribute to constructability reviews, value engineering workshops and option studies with designers and alliance partners.
• Coordinate with commercial, procurement, project controls, construction delivery and HSE to align on risk, cost and programme.
• Review and challenge designers' proposals to de-risk technical solutions, reduce quantities, optimise sequencing.
• Engage with subcontractors and supply chain to understand constraints and opportunities.
• Capture lessons learned from Hinkley Point C and apply to Sizewell C methodologies.
• Ensure all methodologies comply with statutory, regulatory and project requirements in a nuclear-licensed environment.
• Promote collaboration across the alliance and support a one-team culture.
