Job description

Risktec, part of the TUV Rheinland Group, is seeking to expand its Asset Integrity Management team in Derby, UK. We are looking for an experienced Metallurgist for a senior, permanent role, to lead and provide technical support to our clients.

Our team mainly focuses on the Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors, including CCGT, Biomass, and Energy from Waste plants. Candidates with energy industry experience or transferable skills are encouraged to apply.

Ideal candidates will have experience in:

  • Ferrous metallurgy
  • Failure analysis and root cause investigation
  • High temperature degradation mechanisms, including creep
  • Corrosion in biomass/energy from waste boilers (advantageous)

Power plant background is highly desirable. Alternatively, experience in damage/degradation mechanisms and life assessment in oil & gas or petro-chemical industries may be suitable.

You should have excellent communication and report-writing skills. The role may involve short-term travel within the UK and abroad, depending on project needs.
