Lloyd's Register Group is seeking a metallurgical engineer to assess complex materials issues for internal and external clients. You will certify materials, update LR Rules, and provide guidance on new technologies while managing projects and delivering training.

This hybrid, full-time role requires experience in marine materials, strong reporting skills, and eligibility for UK security clearance. You will work across multiple sites and interact with shipyards and manufacturers.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Metallurgy or Engineering.
• Membership of a professional institution.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards this.
• Proficiency in English language.
• Experience in material manufacturing / materials engineering in marine or related industries.
• Demonstrated growth across multiple roles with professional progression.
• Ability to compile detailed technical reports of investigations and audits.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to obtain UK security clearance.

Aufgaben

• Assess global material manufacturers and provide certification as appropriate.
• Update and maintain LR Rules and assess new materials/technologies for acceptance.
• Monitor developments in materials manufacturing tech and provide guidance to clients.
• Undertake project management including progress and budget monitoring.
• Perform on-site verification and report findings.
• Deliver formal technical training for LR personnel and external clients.
• Participate in internal and joint industry research projects.
• Provide technical training for surveyors, clients, shipyards and owners.

Metallurgy or Engineering degree
