We’re looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven Senior Merchandiser to lead our retail merchandising team and drive the development and execution of our product assortment across all marketplace channels. As Senior Merchandiser you will be responsible for overseeing product selection, pricing strategies, inventory management, and ensuring a seamless integration between buying, planning, and marketing teams.
This role demands advanced merchandising expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset focused on profitability and sustainable growth.
Maternity Cover contract – 12 – 15 Months
The role:
- Manage relationships with key marketplace contacts. Manage product onboarding, including content, imagery, attributes, and categorisation. Analyse sales trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to inform product selection and pricing
- Oversee end-to-end strategy for all categories across marketplaces, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and market trends. Plan product mix by market and store type.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive category profitability, using data-driven insights to inform decisions.
- Define and execute trade strategies across key accounts to optimise revenue and margin performance. Analyse trading patterns and ensure appropriate actions.
- Own strategic pricing decisions, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability. Identify promotional opportunities and manage the process.
- Take strategic ownership of stock levels, ensuring optimal availability while minimising risk. Ensure effective stock distribution and customer-focused market knowledge.
- Lead communication and collaboration across buying, planning, supply chain, marketing to align execution with strategy.
- Utilise advanced analytics to inform strategic decision-making. Serve as an expert user of internal tools and recommend process and system improvements. Provide clear, accurate, and professional reporting.
- Lead and mentor a team, developing their commercial acumen and merchandising capability. Inspire and guide cross-functional project teams. Develop team skills and manage personnel issues promptly.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior merchandising role or equivalent with trading mentality and a track record of success
- Strong analytical and commercial skills
