The Oxfordshire CAMHS SPA team provides consultation, advice and support for children, young people and professionals. We promote self-help where appropriate and ensure referrals are directed to the right CAMHS pathway. The role involves joint decision-making, close work with schools, GPs and social care, and a calm, coordinated team approach.

You’ll be registered in a relevant field such as nursing, occupational therapy or social work, with strong communication skills and an understanding of CAMHS. Experience in multi-agency working is key.

We welcome applications from Band 5 clinicians looking for a supported development route into a Band 6 role.

Join us to help make access to mental health care clearer, quicker and more effective for young people across Oxfordshire.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out high-quality, needs-led mental health triage and assessments for children and young people via the CAMHS SPA, including telephone interventions, risk assessments, and care planning.
  • Work collaboratively with internal CAMHS teams and external agencies such as schools, healthcare providers, and local authorities to ensure joined-up, effective support.
  • Provide consultation, training, and supervision to colleagues and other professionals to support early identification and timely intervention in young people’s mental health.
  • Contribute to service development and clinical governance through audits, evidence-based resource creation, research activity, and quality assurance processes.
