Barnsley CAMHS has a rare andexciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner or ClinicalPsychologist to join our Children in Care Pathway. You will be acreativeand dynamic clinician to help create individualised packages of care to supportyoung people in the community. We are especially interested if you holdqualifications/training in Thera-play or other younger aged treatment models.

You will work closely with the CiC Pathway lead and team manager tooffer excellent assessment, consultation, education and direct care toprofessionals, foster carers and looked after children within Barnsley, youwill form part of a wider service working alongside a range of professionsincluding Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Support Workers,Psychologists and Specialist Therapists.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of anintegrated, supportive multi-disciplinary team as part of a wider system offerfor Barnsley CIC. You will understand and be able to offer formulation andconsultation to a range of professionals, along with foster carers and youngpeople. You will be able to work directly with young people up to the age of 25within a therapeutic modality and have positive outcomes which are recoveryfocussed. Being able to manage risk and complexity is essential alongside acalm, resilient and professional manner which supports and advocates engagementwith the system and young people.

Good Interpersonal andcommunication skills are an essential part of this role, needing to adapt theseto meet a wider variety of need. You should have experience and/or appreciationof some of the richness and complexities of working with Children Careexperiencing mental health difficulties.
