Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Core profession with valid registration of professional body e.g. RMN, Social Work or equivalent post graduate accreditable qualification CBT, EMHP, CYWP. • Evidence of continuing professional development in the field of child and adolescent mental health
- Experience of working with children's Mental Health Services
Desirable criteria
- Completion of a CYP improving access to psychological therapies certificate.
- Completion of an EMHP Supervisors Course
Experience
Essential criteria
- The post holder should: • Experience of assessment and delivering evidence based mental health interventions including low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy interventions. • Experience of Multi-disciplinary working within a CAMHS setting • Experience and knowledge of implementing safeguarding procedures for children and adults. • Experience in utilising and interpreting routine outcome measures in practice. • Experience of supervising colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team and consultation in other agency settings.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of supporting young people in an educational setting
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of child and adolescent development. • Knowledge of risk assessment and safety planning. • Knowledge of legislation related to children and/or adolescent\'s mental health and social care e.g. Mental Health Act, Child Protection and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children etc • Understanding and knowledge of psychological models of brief intervention.
Desirable criteria
- Ability to teach and train others using multi-media materials suitable for presentation within public. • Level of knowledge of research methodology and data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of child and adolescent mental health.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to utilise CYP assessment skills and routine outcome measures effectively including suitability and risk assessments. • Ability to apply therapeutic knowledge to clinical practice. • Effective communication skills in respond to a variety of needs and situation. • Good organisational/time management skills with the ability to manage own workload, organise own time and diary, and meet deadlines. • Ability to work autonomously in the community and use own initiative and make appropriate decisions. • Must demonstrate a commitment to the overall vision of the development of the professional group of mental health practitioners in education settings. • Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft word applications, including PowerPoint and excel.
