We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lewes, a category B men's prison. The role offers free parking and a very welcoming team.

Working in a friendly and supportive team of 6, with lots of training and development opportunities depending on your interests, and free parking on site.

Hours

36 hours a week, working three days a week, 13-hour shifts from 9am to 10pm, with a 1-hour break. No weekends or night shifts.

Salary

This full-time position offers an annual salary up to GBP 52,507 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Assessing and managing patients' mental health needs
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload, and developing holistic care plans
  • Contributing to our nursing strategy to provide outstanding, evidence-based, personalized care
  • Delivering non-judgmental care, building therapeutic relationships, and maintaining professional boundaries
  • Participating in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, always considering safeguarding policies

Qualifications

  • Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Nurse - HCPC / NMC Registered
  • Experience working within mental health settings, with knowledge of this patient group
  • High-standard patient assessment and risk assessment skills
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multidisciplinary environment

Although not essential, experience in hospital, community, or prison environments is desirable.
