Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse/Practitioner to join our Mental Health team at HMP Winchester, a category B Prison located in Winchester.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week working across 5 days, 8:00-16:00 on a rota basis including weekends and some bank holidays, 1 in 4 weekends.

Salary: This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £54,397.00 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence based care, seeking out, listening to and acting on feedback to personalise care.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.
