This six-month secondment offers a unique and high-impact leadership opportunity within the Greater Manchester Mental Health Urgent Triage Team (MHUTT), with a particular focus on the NHS 111 Dial 2 mental health service. The role is ideal for a clinically experienced and operationally astute professional seeking to broaden their leadership portfolio and contribute meaningfully to urgent mental health care transformation.

As Clinical Lead, you will be at the forefront of urgent mental health response across Greater Manchester, providing clinical leadership and operational oversight to a fast-paced, high-demand service. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of the NHS 111 Dial 2 pathway, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for individuals in crisis.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Clinical Leadership: Lead and support the delivery of high-quality mental health triage through NHS 111 Dial 2, ensuring clinical governance and adherence to best practice.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, including shift coordination, workforce planning, and escalation management.
  • Supervision & Support: Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to staff, promoting reflective practice and professional development.
  • Complex Case Oversight: Lead on the management of high-risk and complex presentations, ensuring robust risk assessment and decision-making.
  • System Collaboration: Work closely with system partners including emergency services, community teams, and commissioners to ensure integrated care pathways.
  • Complex Case Management: Provide expert oversight and guidance on high-risk and complex cases, ensuring safe and effective outcomes.
  • Staff Supervision & Development: Mentor and supervise a multidisciplinary team, fostering professional growth, resilience, and reflective practice.
