We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental HealthNurseto join our Mental Health Team atHMP Fosse Way, aCategory C resettlement prison in Leicester.

HMP Fosse Way opened in May 2023. Its state of the art design and facilities offer a secure environment to provide skills and qualifications to the men, enabling them to secure meaningful employment on release with the aim of reducing reoffending rates.

Salary

This position isfull time,you’ll receive an annual salary up to £47,466 per annum - depending on experience.

Hours
This role is on a rolling rota between 7am and 6pm, 7 days a week. 37.5 hours per week.

What you'll be doing

As aSenior Mental Health Nurse,your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Undertake theassessment and ongoing management of our patients’ mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

  • Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
