Job summary

Urban Outfitters in London is seeking a Senior Design Assistant to join our Menswear Design team. You will support design development, trend research, fabric and trim sourcing, and create CAD packs to drive innovative, commercial ranges for UK and Europe across stores and online.

You will work closely with Buying and Merchandising to present ranges, understand brand image, and contribute to seasonal concepts, colour and wash boards. Strong CAD skills and a keen eye for trend are essential.

Qualifications

Background in Menswear design with technical knowledge.
Portfolio should be directional and demonstrate ability to think outside the box.
Strong attention to detail from concept through to specs and final designs.
Proficient CAD – Illustrator/Photoshop and InDesign skills.
Strong communication skills with ability to build and maintain relationships.

Responsibilities

Assist in design development and trend direction for Menswear.
Research latest trends to inspire and develop new ranges for UK/Europe.
Source fabrics and trims, identify washes and techniques.
Develop innovative, commercial ranges considering price architecture and margins.
Collaborate with Buying and Merchandising to source and present ranges.
Create CAD packs with measurements and fabric references.
Contribute to seasonal concepts, colour and wash boards.
Develop concepts to hand/CAD sketches and CAD packs.
