Job summary

Immunara, an AI biology lab, is seeking researchers to design, train and evaluate deep learning models for high-dimensional biological data, including molecular and clinical datasets. You will help build robust training infrastructure so a small elite team can run ambitious experiments with speed and scientific discipline, and you will contribute to rigorous evaluation frameworks.

We value high agency, elite ML/DL depth, engineering taste and research judgement.

Qualifications

• Ambiguity tolerance and taking ownership of hard problems.
• Deep understanding of core ML/DL fundamentals and research-grade modeling.
• Ability to simplify hard problems with creative modelling approaches.
• Experience or familiarity with biological data (preferred).

About Immunara

Immunara is an AI biology lab building biological superintelligence. We’re developing biological foundation models that learn how human biology works, and AI agents that reason over biological data to accelerate scientific discovery.

Understanding disease means connecting what happens across molecules, cells, tissues, organs and patients. Today, much of that knowledge is fragmented and captured in forms that AI cannot readily interpret or reason over. We believe AI can bring these pieces together to reveal biology that existing approaches cannot.

Our Approach

We’re building foundation models trained on large, proprietary, multimodal human datasets to model disease and predict how biological systems respond to interventions. Alongside this, we’re developing AI agents trained through reinforcement learning to reason over data and models, generate hypotheses and design experiments.

Our ambition is to build AI systems that can understand and discover biology - radically improving how we develop new treatments.

We’ve raised a large funding round from leading Silicon Valley investors to achieve this goal.

What we’re looking for

• High agency — You are comfortable with ambiguity, move fast without needing permission, and take ownership of hard problems. Like us, you’re intense and opinionated!

• Elite ML/DL depth — You have a deep understanding of the fundamentals of machine learning and have built research-grade models.

• Engineering taste —You make hard things simple and take creative approaches to modelling problems.

• Research judgement — You can design experiments, diagnose failure modes, and decide what to try next, while staying anchored to what the work must ultimately make possible for patients, scientists, and drug developers.

• Experience with Bio-ML — Ideally, you have worked with biological data such as single-cell, transcriptomics, proteomics, imaging, EHR, clinical trial, or other high-dimensional biomedical datasets.
