Generative Group is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff in London to lead hands‑on work shaping research directions and technical foundations in AI biology. You will design, train and evaluate models on complex biological and clinical data while building scalable infrastructure to support rapid experimentation.

You will collaborate closely with scientists and engineers, guiding research decisions and establishing technical standards.

What the job entails

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you will be a hands‑on technical contributor helping shape the research direction and technical foundations of an AI biology organisation. Depending on your experience, you may focus on biological foundation models, deep learning, reinforcement learning, AI agents or large‑scale machine learning systems.

You will design, train and evaluate models for high‑dimensional biological and clinical data, and build reliable infrastructure that enables ambitious experiments to run quickly. You will develop robust evaluation methods, translate biological questions into machine learning problems, and interpret model results to generate useful biological insight.

You will also help create AI agents that reason over data, generate hypotheses, design experiments and use scientific tools. Working closely with scientists and engineers, you will diagnose failure modes, guide research decisions and help establish the team’s technical standards and engineering culture.

• Salary range of £150,000–£250,000, plus significant equity.
