It’s with a great sense of purpose that we work together with brave health and wellness companies to create and inspire healthier, happier, and longer lives. It’s our passion. And if you’re still reading, we’re guessing it might be yours too. We are looking to add to our alchemic mix of more than 2,000 talented professionals. At Real Chemistry, we don’t just wish the world was healthier. We leverage tech, data, and creativity to make it so. You in?

Real Chemistry is looking for a Senior Medical Writer to join our growing team!

As a Senior Medical Writer at Real Chemistry, you will work across several therapy areas to create a range of material, ensuring the language and content are appropriate for the target audience. Naturally, your work will be of the highest quality, scientifically accurate, and aligned with the relevant brand.

What you’ll do:

  • Confidently step into therapeutic areas outside those already assigned.
  • Lead discussions on therapy areas, drivers influencing treatment decision-making, and patient pathways with clients and external experts.
  • Undertake content delivery for complex projects with minimal supervision from senior team members, delegating to AMW/MWs as needed to ensure timely execution to a high standard.
  • Develop clear, persuasive writing styles, able to craft compelling narratives from complex information, including structuring and writing novel projects.
  • Take responsibility for the overall quality of deliverables with minimal oversight.
  • Apply critical thinking to interpret and evolve client briefs, ensuring high-quality, timely results aligned with client goals.
  • Balance storytelling within regulatory frameworks.
  • Review junior writers’ work, providing constructive feedback for professional development.
  • Challenge client and account teams on the most effective approaches to meet client and brand needs.
  • Ensure messaging aligns with strategic client objectives.
  • Lead scientific discussions with clients and external experts to capture briefs, resolve queries, and develop scientific content efficiently.
  • Present and articulate work effectively to clients, telling the story clearly.
  • Contribute to service enhancements and support organic growth of accounts.
  • Communicate scientific stories to non-scientific colleagues clearly and concisely.
  • Adapt to changing client timelines and needs while maintaining quality standards, including 'pushing back' when necessary.
  • Identify new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Support scientific strategy development for new therapeutic areas and contribute to pitch presentations.
  • Mentor and manage junior writers, providing feedback and guidance.
  • Ensure project deadlines are met, proactively addressing potential issues.
  • Maintain timely communication regarding project progress and resource allocation.
  • Lead meetings and strategic discussions with clients, authors, and advisors.
  • Proactively define client briefs, resolve queries, and address feedback with solutions-focused approaches.

This position is a perfect fit for you if:

  • You resonate with our company values: Best Together, Impact-Obsessed, Excellence Expected, Evolve Always, and Accountability with an “I”.
  • You are adaptable, resilient, and flexible as we grow and evolve.
  • You are proactive, driven, resourceful, and skilled in prioritization and data analysis.
  • You are highly organized, a self-starter, capable of working independently and under tight deadlines.

What you should have:

  • Experience in medical writing within an agency environment.
  • At least a Master’s degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline; a PhD is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure as business needs arise.
  • Excellent written English, with strong vocabulary, grammar, and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and awareness skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Veeva is a plus.
