A leading NHS hospital in Bradford is seeking a full-time Senior Medical Secretary & Team Leader in the Plastic Surgery department. The successful candidate will manage patient pathways, oversee waiting lists, and provide comprehensive administrative support. Qualifications include a Medical Secretary Diploma and proven secretarial experience. Excellent organizational and IT skills are essential for this role.
Main area Admin Grade NHS AfC: Band 4 Contract Permanent Hours Full time - 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm with one 9-5pm (rota))

We have a vacancy for a Band 4 Senior Medical Secretary & Team Leader to join the Plastic Surgery department administrative team on a permanent basis. It is essential that the successful applicant is able to work effectively as part of the team supporting and assisting colleagues, whilst prioritising and managing their own workload.
For this role you will work within a multi-disciplinary team, and be responsible for a range of duties related to patient pathway management, including, but not limited to: managing outpatient and inpatient waiting lists, including arranging elective admissions and booking patients onto theatre lists; validation of patients RTT pathways, rescheduling appointments; diary management; audio transcription and word processing of clinical letters; production of reports and other correspondence as required for the Plastic Surgery services.
As well as providing a comprehensive administrative and secretarial function; the post holder will also help lead, manage, and develop a responsive administration service. This is to ensure effective and efficient management of resources to achieve national and local performance targets.
You should be literate and numerate, with excellent organizational, time management and IT skills and an ability to work without supervision.
Medical secretarial and admin experience is essential. An audio typing test will be required at interview.
You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels. You will have enthusiasm, motivation and demonstrate pride in your work.
