Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive medical secretary to join General Surgery within the surgical division.

Main duties of the job

The role requires a medical secretary with experience of working on their own initiative at a senior level and is able to offer a comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Consultants and their associated teams. As a senior medical secretary, you will be the first point of contact for patients, doctors and staff throughout the Health Board.

This challenging position requires someone who is a team player, flexible, organised and is able to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will need to be an experienced typist, qualified to RSA Typing Level III (or equivalent). This position also requires excellent communication skills, the ability to meet the demands of working in a busy environment and is able to represent the department with due professionalism.

This post will be worked over 2 days, Thursday and Friday to ensure continuity for the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
