This is an exciting opportunity to join the Blood Sciences Department at Hywel Dda University Health Board. Applications are invited from efficient, motivated and suitably qualified individuals for the part-time Band 4 Senior Medical Secretary position within the Biochemistry/Haematology departments. The post will primarily be based at Prince Philip Hospital site but there will be an expectation to work and provide cover across any of the four Health Board sites as required.
Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point and E-mail coupled with proven secretarial skills (including audio typing) and previous experience of medical terminology is essential. You will be required to use the Health Board's patient database system and other relevant IT packages.
Working 15 hours per week, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a wide range of duties appropriate to the post and job description, to support a comprehensive secretarial service to the Blood Sciences department.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisation skills and be flexible and adaptable in their approach to work. Using initiative, tact and diplomacy where appropriate and possess excellent communication skills.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
