Overview:

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring an experienced Sr. Medical Laboratory Scientist to work full-time days in the core lab.

Sign-on bonus up to $20,000 for qualified candidates!

As a Sr. Laboratory Scientist, your duties include performing laboratory testing, interpreting test results using scientific knowledge, and recommending contingency testing. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing daily technical operations, including staff training, implementation of instrumentation, and ensuring accreditation readiness.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or Biology/Chemical Science
Certification/Licensure
  • ASCP or AMT certification
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience

About Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Located in Norfolk, VA, this 525-bed tertiary care facility is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads. It serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. Our hospital offers high-quality heart programs, Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, and specializes in stroke care, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, and women's health, including a neonatal intensive care unit.
