Position: Senior Medical Editor
The Senior Medical Editor plays a key role in our Global Med Comms team by enhancing the clarity, accuracy, and impact of our medical communications. They review, edit, and verify a wide range of medical content, ensuring it meets high standards and resonates effectively across various media platforms.
What you’ll do:
- Edit and proofread medical content, ensuring clarity, flow, and adherence to client style.
- Style and reformat slide decks/documents.
- Coordinate with Designers/Creative team for content layout and formatting.
- Manage publication submissions to congresses/journals.
- Advise on copyright status and facilitate quotes and purchases.
- Build understanding of medical terminology to improve content quality.
- Perform non-complex data checks as needed.
- Collaborate with Medical, Client Services, Design, and Project Management teams to maintain quality and meet deadlines.
- Stay updated on industry best practices for editing and promote their use.
- Develop and maintain client style guides.
- Work across multiple brands/products, respecting client preferences.
- Contribute to evaluating and improving editorial processes.

What you should have:
- Exceptional proofreading and editing skills.
- Knowledge of industry editing standards (e.g., AMA, Vancouver, APA).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of medical terminology and experience with fact-checking.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Interest in applying AI to editing.
- Good time management skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- A desire for continuous learning about medical advancements.
- Experience in a team environment, with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Previous experience as a medical editor in a medical communications agency is preferred.
Our Work Environment: Since the pandemic, we have adopted a flexible working model. Employees near our offices in New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Carmel (IN), Manchester (UK), Edinburgh (UK), and London (UK) are expected to attend in person two days a week. Others work remotely with quarterly in-person gatherings. We call this our Real Hybrid and Regional Teams (Real HART) approach, fostering connection and collaboration while supporting flexibility.
