Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Medical Director in Maidenhead, UK, to provide medical quality and device safety expertise across the portfolio. You will lead risk assessment, quality risk management, and regulatory communications, partnering with Global Patient Safety and cross-functional teams to enable pipeline development and ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree with specialty residency and minimum 2 years of patient management experience.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in drug safety, medical device safety, clinical development, pharmacovigilance, regulatory science, or related functions.
• Strong understanding of global medical device regulations, including FDA, EU MDR, and other international requirements.
• Experience evaluating complex safety signals and contributing to cross-functional risk assessments.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead medical quality and device safety expert activities across product portfolio.
• Provide medical input for risk management, benefit-risk evaluations, and regulatory submissions.
• Support inspections, health authority interactions, and cross-functional risk reviews.
