Job summary

Teaching Vacancies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Workshop Technician to support practical engineering programme delivery in a busy workshop. You will maintain a safe, organised learning environment and ensure machinery and equipment are prepared for teaching and assessment activities.

The successful candidate will lead a team of technicians, operate manual and CNC tools, and collaborate with teaching staff to support engineering education while upholding Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high quality technical support in curriculum areas.
• Experience identifying training needs to support learning.
• Ability to supervise a team of technicians.
• Awareness of Health & Safety requirements in college/workshop.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, organised and fully operational workshop environment.
• Prepare, set up and maintain workshop equipment and resources for teaching.
• Operate manual and CNC machines including lathes and milling machines.
• Lead a team of technicians and support lecturers during practical sessions.
• Ensure machinery is inspected, maintained and records kept.
