Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Mechanical Tendering Engineer in Halesowen to drive technically compliant and commercially competitive mechanical tenders from enquiry through to handover. Based in the West Midlands, you will work with customers, suppliers and project teams to deliver accurate proposals for water utilities, petrochemical and process sectors.

The role requires an established background in pipework, fabrication and installation on large projects, with attention to detail

Qualifications

• 5+ years' relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience in tendering, estimating or proposals environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical pipework, fabrication and installation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technically compliant and commercially competitive mechanical tenders.
• Review drawings and specifications to produce detailed material take-offs.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations from technical and commercial perspectives.
• Prepare financial estimates including material, labour and subcontract costs.
• Attend site visits to assess proposed works and understand project requirements.
• Liaise with customers to gather information for complete offers.
• Review GA and P&ID drawings as part of tendering and estimating.
