Job summary

MK-Search is engaged with a well-respected M&E contractor to appoint a mechanical project manager for a £21m healthcare refurbishment and decarbonisation in Surrey. Reporting to a project director, you will shadow an existing manager initially, then take the lead to close out the remaining 8 months to PC.

The role focuses on leading the project team, coordinating design and procurement, and upholding best-practice health and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Experience managing M&E projects in healthcare or similar regulated sectors.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to coordinate design and procurement streams.

Responsibilities

• Lead team meetings to engage, motivate, and improve performance.
• Report aspects of the project to clients, Directors, and stakeholders.
• Liaise with Design & Coordination to ensure drawings capture any additional cost, programme delay, or external influence.
• Delegate activities within the project team, while building strong working relationships.
• Management of the procurement process.
• Be an advocate for best-practice health and safety.

MK-Search are currently working with a well respected £250m turnover M&E contractor with a strong presence across sectors who are looking to engage with a mechanical project manager to deliver a notable £21m M&E healthcare refurb and decarbonisation project in Surrey. Reporting to a project director, you will initially shadow an existing project manager, before they move and you are left to act as mechanical lead to close out the remaining 8 months of the scheme to PC.

Duties:

• Lead team meetings to engage, motivate, and improve performance.
• Report aspects of the project to clients, Directors, and any other relevant stakeholder.
• Liaise with Design & Coordination to ensure the delivery of design/working drawings capture any additional cost, programme delay, or external influence that may affect production. Delegate activities within the project team, while building strong working relationships.
• Management of the procurement process.
• Be an advocate for best-practice health and safety.

Sign off to pay an attractive day rate with an very busy order book of projects across the business and a potential chance to move onto a new scheme for a long term contract extension after the initial 8 months.
