Job summary

MK Search & Selection is recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager for a major decarbonisation project in East London. You will oversee the mechanical delivery from procurement through installation, commissioning and handover, working within a Main Contractor environment.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in building services, sizeable mechanical packages, and effective stakeholder management, with potential for either permanent or freelance engagement across the UK market.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within building services, energy or renewables is essential.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services installations.
• Experience delivering sizeable mechanical packages from pre-construction through handover.
• Experience managing subcontractors and site-based delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the mechanical delivery of the package and programme.
• Coordinate mechanical installation works across the project and with other trades.
• Manage subcontractors, direct labour and specialist suppliers to programme milestones.
• Review mechanical designs, specifications and technical submissions for compliance.
• Oversee procurement of mechanical plant, equipment and materials.
• Chair progress, coordination and subcontractor meetings and report progress to client.
