Job summary

People Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead a major commercial development in Central London. You will oversee the mechanical services package from pre-construction through to completion, coordinating with electrical, architectural and structural disciplines.

The role requires extensive experience in delivering large-scale commercial projects for a Tier One MEP contractor, with strong leadership, communications and contractual awareness to drive programme and commercial

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Mechanical Project Manager / Senior Mechanical Project Manager.
• Background with a Tier One MEP contractor.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and project delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Understanding of programme, commercial and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the mechanical services package from pre-construction through to completion.
• Lead and manage Project Managers, Engineers and specialist subcontractors.
• Own programme, budget, quality and commercial performance.
• Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, architectural and structural packages.
• Manage design development, procurement and installation.
• Work closely with client, consultants and main contractor.
• Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with project requirements.
• Manage subcontractor performance and drive programme progress.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
• Identify and resolve technical, commercial and programme issues.

A leading Tier One MEP Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join their team and take a senior delivery role on a large-scale commercial development in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased Project Manager with strong experience delivering major commercial projects and the ability to lead complex mechanical packages from pre-construction through to completion.

The Role

As Senior Mechanical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the mechanical services package, working closely with the wider project team, client and supply chain.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the delivery of the mechanical services package from pre-construction through to completion
• Leading and managing Project Managers, Engineers and specialist subcontractors
• Taking ownership of programme, budget, quality and commercial performance
• Coordinating mechanical services with electrical, architectural and structural packages
• Managing design development, procurement and installation
• Working closely with the client, consultants and main contractor
• Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with project requirements
• Managing subcontractor performance and driving programme progress
• Leading project meetings and providing regular progress updates
• Identifying and resolving technical, commercial and programme issues

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Significant experience as a Mechanical Project Manager / Senior Mechanical Project Manager
• A strong background working for a Tier One MEP Contractor
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and project delivery
• Experience managing significant mechanical packages and project teams
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills
• A strong understanding of programme, commercial and contractual requirements
