Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer for London rail projects, based on the HS2 Vent Shaft site at Acton. The role offers a salary range of £75,000–£85,000 plus a £5,000 car allowance, full travel expenses, pension, healthcare and a 10% bonus.

The successful candidate will lead design reviews, procure sub-contractors, coordinate site managers and oversee commissioning and handover activities within a busy rail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical services design and coordination.
• Rail sector exposure is preferred.
• Strong procurement and subcontractor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand and scrutinise specifications.
• Assist with management of design stage.
• Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant.
• Assist with preparation of Contract Documents i.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFI’s, etc.
• Coordination and management of direct labor.
• Instruct and coordinate site managers.
• Progress reporting.
• Overseeing commissioning and testing.
• Working with Quantity Surveyor on Commercial Accounts.
• Preparation of OMs for final project handover.

The successful candidate will be based on the HS2 Vent Shaft project at Acton.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Read, understand and scrutinise Specifications
• Assist with management of design stage

The ideal candidate:

• Ideally have a HNC or HND and good technical knowledge of Mechanical services.
