Job description

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our internal MEP division, Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME).

KME collaborates internally and partners with our regional construction teams to deliver MEP solutions across various sectors.

Location: Solihull, West Midlands

Hours: Full-time, Permanent

As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, you will oversee the installation of Mechanical elements on your assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all work complies with Kier standards, UK law, and project requirements, emphasizing safety, quality, and statutory compliance.
  • Collaborate with design teams and clients to optimize designs for efficient, safe, and compliant construction.
  • Manage project controls including change management, risk assessment, opportunity identification, and quality assurance.
  • Lead and support project team members by setting clear expectations, managing performance, and promoting the Kier "one team" culture.
  • Deliver projects within agreed timelines and budgets, achieving commercial and quality objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records and appointments, especially for mechanical works, demonstrating sound decision-making aligned with commercial priorities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Technical expertise in Mechanical Services and safety, with relevant industry qualifications.
  • Minimum of CSCS and SMSTS accreditation.
  • Experience overseeing Mechanical Services installation on large-scale construction projects is preferred.
