Position: Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer

Job title: Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer with leadership experience to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is not only confident in their technical skills, but also enjoys mentoring others, leading from the front, and making a real impact across product development and improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating detailed electro-mechanical 3D models and technical drawings
  • Producing 2D drawings, BOMs, and documentation for UKCA/CE approval
  • Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver complete design packs
  • Leading design concept and scope meetings to establish clear project parameters
  • Supporting the change control process and helping to continuously improve existing designs
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and cross-functional teams

Requirements:

  • A degree (or equivalent NVQ Level 7) in mechanical or related engineering discipline
  • Demonstrable team leadership experience in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Advanced user of SolidWorks - experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight is a bonus
  • Solid knowledge of fabrication, machining, materials, tolerances, and practical workshop skills
  • Understanding of pressure vessel design and CE/UKCA approval requirements
  • Organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable balancing multiple projects
  • A collaborative, open-minded leader who enjoys mentoring and supporting others
