Senior Mechanical Manager - Commercial Construction

Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in London is seeking an experienced Mechanical Manager to lead the delivery of mechanical services on a major commercial construction scheme. You will work closely with the Project Manager, site team, subcontractors, consultants and client to ensure quality, safety and programme commitments are met.

You will review drawings and specs, coordinate with trades, manage subcontractors, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• CSCS and SMSTS certifications are required.
• Proven experience as Mechanical Manager on commercial construction.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all mechanical services works from installation through to completion.
• Oversee mechanical subcontractors and specialists, ensuring safe, on-schedule delivery to quality standards.
• Coordinate mechanical installations with other trades and the wider programme.
• Review drawings and specs to resolve design or coordination issues.
• Attend site, progress and technical coordination meetings.
• Monitor progress and ensure key milestones are achieved.
• Liaise with consultants, designers, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, project specs and standards.
• Assist with procurement, material approvals and subcontractor management as required.
• Monitor testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Maintain accurate project records, inspections, snagging and handover docs.
• Promote health, safety and environmental compliance on site.
