Job summary

Inspire Resourcing Ltd in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a leading heavy engineering and foundry environment. You will be part of a skilled maintenance team responsible for planned and preventative maintenance, ensuring plant machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Fitter or similar in heavy industry.
• Experience with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and fault finding.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
• Welding experience with Stick/MMA desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on foundry and plant machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maintain production output.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and machinery, identifying potential issues before they become breakdowns.
• Support maintenance shutdowns and major repair projects.
• Replace and repair components including bearings, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, shafts, and hydraulic equipment.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure machinery reliability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work reports.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Participate in emergency breakdown response when required.
