We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join the Surrey-based team, driving accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical installations in commercial fit out projects.

Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing detailed and competitive cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and ventilation, for commercial fit out projects. You will collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing, support tender submissions, and contribute to winning high-profile contracts. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and industry knowledge to deliver cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, ventilation) in commercial fit out projects.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and site surveys to develop detailed cost breakdowns.
• Collaborate with project managers and design teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and client requirements.
• Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive rates.
• Produce comprehensive tender documents and support bid submissions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
• Maintain and update cost databases for materials, labor, and equipment.

Requirements

• Proven Experience: Extensive experience in mechanical estimating for commercial HVAC, plumbing, or ventilation projects.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience in mechanical construction.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or BIM (preferred).
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze technical drawings and specifications for accurate cost estimation.
• Negotiation Skills: Experience negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective solutions.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, ventilation) in commercial fit out projects.
• Location: HQ in Surrey.
