Energy Jobline ZR in Manchester is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in Building Services/FM. The role focuses on overseeing mechanical service contracts and compliance, including gas, water, HVAC and compressed systems, with on-site contractor management for a multi-site organisation.

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified or Chartered with experience in FM/building services, contractor management, and adherence to statutory regulations.

Qualificações

• IOSH or NEBOSH certification is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Organise contractor site inspections and manage contractors to maintain compliance and SLAs.
• Assist head of department in strategic and operational maintenance of site, including surveys and project management.
• Ensure mechanical records, reports and specifications are maintained per legislation and industry standards.
• Oversee reactive works ensuring compliance and legal provisions are met.
• Develop risk assessments, method statements and permits to work for safe systems of work.
• Produce monthly reports related to ongoing compliance.
• Identify risk areas and monitor to improve department performance.

Job DescriptionOur client, based in central Manchester, require a Principal Mechanical Engineer from the Building Services/FM sector. The role will oversee mechanical service contracts & compliance, with an emphasis on Mechanical & Pressure systems maintenance whilst overseeing contractors on site covering Gas, Water, HVAC & compressed systems. It's working for the Facilities Division of a Multi-site organisation who we have dealt with for the last 20 years. This is a permanent role that will pay between £50,000 - 56,535 PAYE + excellent benefits (35 days holidays + 19% pension) In summary, this position would suit someone who has worked in a FM/Building Services role who has solid mechanical engineering knowledge (ideally degree qualified) coupled with experience of contractor management, statutory regulations & management of mechanical service contracts/SLAs.

Duties will include:

• Organising contractor site inspections and managing contractors to maintain compliance and SLAs.
• Assist head of department in strategic & operational maintenance of site, including provision of surveys, project management and responsibility for updating mechanical standard requirement documents.
• Ensuring mechanical records, reports, design and installation specifications are maintained in line with current legislation & industry standards.
• Oversee reactive works whilst making sure all compliance and legal provisions are met.
• Looking after mechanical Risk Assessments, Method statements & organising Safe systems of working/Permits to work.
• Able to produce monthly reports related to ongoing compliance.
• Identify risk areas and monitor to improve mechanical department performance.

Desired Educational Requirements:

• Chartered Engineer or Degree level qualification Mechanical Engineering, building services or equivalent discipline.
• IOSH or NEBOSH certification (desirable)
