Job summary

A Senior Mechanical Engineer is sought to work primarily within the Water industry for Aqua Consultants. The role involves leadership on feasibility, outline and detailed design projects, with potential secondment to client sites on a part-time or full-time basis.

You'll lead multi-discipline teams, produce deliverables on time and to budget, mentor junior engineers and help develop innovative solutions while maintaining CPD and contributing to Mission 25 growth goals.

Qualifications

• Water industry or wider utilities experience.
• Knowledge of water and sewage treatment processes and equipment.
• Commercial awareness of clients and project impacts.
• Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience from feasibility to outline and detailed design.
• Production of calculations (e.g., hydraulic pump calculations).
• Production of schedules, documents, reports, drawings, datasheets.
• Degree qualified in mechanical engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership within 6 months.
• Onsite experience preferable.
• CAD skills advantageous.
• Knowledge of WIMES and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute on feasibility, outline and detailed design projects.
• Tendering and developing fee bids.
• Design management and coordination of multidisciplinary projects.
• Lead or conduct site visits as required.
• Liaise with and support internal stakeholders, clients and suppliers.
• Support junior engineers with development and mentoring.
• Produce deliverables to time, cost and quality.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions on projects.
• Develop and deliver innovative client solutions.
• Check and review documents.
• Develop smarter ways of working with new tools/techniques.
• Maintain personal development and CPD.
• Support Aqua's Mission 25 goals for growth.
