Stantec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design delivery for water and wastewater schemes across Scotland. You will drive feasibility through to commissioning, mentor junior engineers and work with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated, resilient infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards.
• Experience delivering mechanical engineering projects within the UK water sector or another regulated infrastructure environment.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, pumping stations and mechanical systems.
• Experience leading technical delivery across multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Experience producing and reviewing technical calculations, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior engineers.

At Stantec, we're helping deliver these nationally important projects, and we're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Water team in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of technical delivery across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects while continuing to develop your leadership skills. Working alongside industry-leading specialists within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you'll lead complex mechanical engineering solutions, mentor developing engineers and contribute to projects that create lasting benefits for communities across Scotland.

About The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the delivery of mechanical engineering design across a range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, supporting delivery from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Leading mechanical design for water and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations and associated infrastructure.
• Producing and reviewing technical calculations, specifications, schedules and engineering documentation.
• Working collaboratively with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.

  ABOUT YOU
