Overview

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Utilities to join PM Group working for us based out of any of our UK offices.

Job Title:

Senior Mechanical Engineer - Utilities

Location:

Birmingham, Manchester, or Edinburgh

Contract:

Full Time – Permanent

Responsibilities

• Design coordination of gas projects, working with our clients to deliver the project scope.
• Coordinate all disciplines involved in delivery while taking the lead on the Mechanical Design.
• Support projects undertaken by other team members, providing technical support or carrying out checking roles for project documentation.
• Adherence to relevant UK and international gas industry design codes such as IGEM/TD/1, TD/12, TD/13, TD/4, TD/3, ASME B31.8, B31.3, B31.4, etc., as well as a working knowledge of Gas Network standards and specifications.
• Utilise the PM Group systems, procedures, and templates for mechanical and project deliverables.
• Contribute towards proposals to meet customer needs.
• Ensure delivery aligns with the project execution plan and scope documents.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with guidance from the project management team.
• Promote PM Group’s capabilities across all areas of the business.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Degree or equivalent in a related subject (e.g., Engineering, Construction, or Science), although relevant experience in the gas industry may be considered.
• Achieved or actively working towards Chartered Status with a recognized institution (IMechE, IGEM, or similar).
• Proven experience in delivering complex, multi-disciplinary design in Energy & Environment, Hydrogen, and Gas Sectors.
• Knowledge and experience in delivering and managing design processes.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to produce quality work and meet project deadlines within budget.
• Self-driven, results-oriented, positive outlook, and focused on high-quality delivery.
• A forward planner who effectively identifies and resolves project challenges.
