Job summary

ASMPT SMT UK Limited in Weymouth seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a 12‑month fixed term. You will conceptualise and deliver mechanical designs for SMT printing machines in a fast‑paced R&D setting, leading and guiding others, with a strong emphasis on safety, sustainability and maintainability.

The role requires a Master’s or Chartered background with hands‑on CAD/PLM expertise and experience across mechanical, electromechanical and mechatronic systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent with mid-level experience.
• Strong understanding of dynamic mechanical, electromechanical and mechatronic interdependencies.
• Proven experience defining and assembling manufacturing processes with tolerances.
• Knowledge of CREO, Windchill, NX CAD and PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop new designs and processes based on evolving technology.
• Carry out complex and/or nonstandard technical analyses.
• Conduct technical risk analysis and mitigation measures.
• Define project requirements, problems, and opportunities.
• Prepare reports, drawings, specifications, and documentation on complex matters.
