The Position

Join a growing and dynamic multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy as a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

This role involves providing engineering support in mechanical building services engineering within the built environment, contributing to design and project management.

Ideal candidates are engineers eager to lead complex projects, share knowledge, and deliver innovative, low-energy designs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Engineering Associate/Director, reporting weekly on progress.
  • Ensure project completion to high standards, on time and within budget.
  • Assist junior staff with technical queries.
  • Engage in fee-earning activities, including scheme design and technical expertise.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and client meetings to establish project briefs and budgets.
  • Develop detailed specifications and drawings based on client briefs.
  • Review tenders, prepare reports, and manage site works from start to finish.
  • Monitor site compliance and finalize contractor accounts.
  • Inspect existing installations and prepare condition reports.
  • Prepare fee invoices monthly.
  • Manage and motivate your team, ensuring clarity of roles and well-being.
  • Advise on resource needs and assist in recruitment.
  • Proactively develop the client base and contribute to fee bids.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency with MEPWorx / IES, AutoCAD, Revit.
  • Knowledge of legislation, codes, and environmental practices.
  • Membership in CIBSE, IET, or similar; Chartered Engineer status or nearing it.
  • Full driving license and vehicle access.
  • Experience managing successful M&E teams.
