Our Infrastructure division provides multidisciplinary engineering services and integrated solutions for various projects related to buildings and infrastructure. We are seeking experienced Senior and Principal Mechanical Engineers to join a major project team in Plymouth. The role involves leading and delivering engineering solutions for a range of technical design packages.

We support flexible working arrangements; some work can be remote, but the role is mainly site-based to develop technical information and collaborate with teams. Travel expenses and accommodation will be reimbursed as needed. For local or relocating candidates, we have several offices in the South-West and a flexible working policy.

This position requires full-time on-site attendance in Plymouth, with a work schedule that may include four longer days on-site and a shorter day working from home or the office on Fridays.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead engineering resources in delivering technical design packages.
  2. Develop engineering solutions for large-scale projects.
  3. Follow relevant standards and codes to produce high-quality designs.
  4. Collaborate with UK and international teams for integrated solutions.
  5. Create technical deliverables, presentations, and engage with clients.
  6. Prepare briefs, scopes, and fee/bid proposals.
  7. Manage internal design resources and timelines.
  8. Engage with specialists, suppliers, and manufacturers.
  9. Review and verify design practices and solutions.
  10. Participate in coordination and review meetings.
Requirements
  1. Experience with Dockyard or MOD design preferred.
  2. Qualification in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
  3. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  4. Proficiency in technical software and calculation packages.
  5. Flexible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
