This role is based on-site in Oxford. The Senior MEP Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for specific M&E systems (mechanical, electrical, ventilation, and specialist systems), liaising with professional teams and providing engineering expertise through detailed design analysis with stakeholders.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Collaborating within the project team, providing guidance and mentoring.
• Analyzing, rectifying, and managing MEP design completion using technical expertise.
• Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, managing programme, health, safety, quality, and costs.
• Establishing and managing interfaces between packages.
• Building relationships with key stakeholders such as clients and design teams.
• Identifying risks and developing mitigation plans.
• Providing expertise on modern construction methods, digital technologies, and prefabrication.
• Supporting Mace’s standards and project strategies, including sustainability goals like net zero carbon.

You’ll need to have:

• Advanced knowledge of a specific engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical), including installation techniques, engineering processes, and commissioning.
• Proficient knowledge of other disciplines (e.g., electrical) for effective collaboration.
• Understanding of construction sequencing, dependencies, and build elements.
• Knowledge of commercial management, procurement, change control, and project costs.
• Understanding of planning processes, critical path, scheduling, and commissioning activities.
• Awareness of health, safety, and welfare standards.
• Knowledge of quality assurance, system integration, and digital engineering technologies.

Additionally, you should have:

• Ability to perform basic design calculations.
• Professional registration with CIBSE or IET.
• Understanding of strategic project goals and risk analysis.
