Job Description:

We have a brand-new opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our established specialist team within our successful MEP division based in either our Cardiff or London offices.

It’s an exciting time to be joining the team – we have a proven track record of managing data centre projects across the UK and are now looking to expand our team and take on larger projects. You will have the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art data centre projects that drive the future of technology, expand your skill set, and progress your career.

Your role will include:

You will play a critical part in the planning, design, and maintenance of world-class data centres. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and Planning: Collaborate with senior engineers to contribute to the mechanical design of data centres, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.
  • Project Support: Assist in project management tasks, such as creating project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct analyses, calculations, and simulations to optimize data center performance and energy efficiency.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform quality control checks to ensure mechanical systems meet standards and specifications.
  • Maintenance: Develop maintenance strategies to ensure ongoing equipment reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work with architects, project managers, and contractors to achieve project goals.
  • Compliance: Stay updated with industry codes, standards, and regulations related to data center engineering and ensure adherence.

Our Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) division:

Our MEP team specializes in energy, sustainability, and engineering design, creating high-performance environments across sectors including commercial, industrial, leisure, retail, manufacturing, logistics, heritage, and residential.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Relevant qualification in building services or mechanical engineering (HNC, HND, Bachelors, Masters), ideally with chartered status or working towards it.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer supporting data centre or mission-critical projects in the UK.
  • Knowledge of BIM, Revit, IES, and other design software.
