Job summary

PX Group is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee safe, reliable and compliant mechanical systems across UK and European sites. You will lead asset integrity, drive continuous improvement and provide technical leadership during shutdowns, projects and operational events.

The role offers development reviews and mentoring, with opportunities for secondments and travel to Northampton Fuel Terminal, Foynes Fuel Terminal, Beckton CHiP as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in process, fuel terminal, refinery, or power generation environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering support across UK and European sites, ensuring asset integrity, reliability, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement mechanical engineering strategies, systems, and processes to achieve safe, compliant, and efficient operational performance.
• Provide technical guidance for shutdowns, projects, modifications, maintenance activities, and planned/unplanned operational events.
• Manage engineering projects and change initiatives, ensuring compliance with project management and MoC requirements.
• Drive safety, audit, and compliance activities, including investigations, risk reviews (HAZOP, LOPA, RBI), and safe working standards.
• Support business growth and operational excellence through mentoring, technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement initiatives, and specialist authorisation responsibilities (e.g., radiography, pressure testing, and excavations).
