Job summary

Reevr Talent Ltd seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a Warwick-based engineering business specialising in automated machinery for pharma, medical devices and FMCG. You will own complex work packages, provide technical direction across projects and mentor junior engineers from concept through installation and handover.

You will lead concept development, design reviews, risk management and supplier coordination, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with rigorous validation and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years post-graduate engineering experience.
• Experience delivering automation systems in regulated environments.
• Hands-on build and process development experience.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join an established engineering business based in Warwick, specialising in the design and manufacture of automated machinery for the pharmaceutical, medical device and FMCG industries.

This is a senior position within the Project Delivery team, offering the opportunity to lead complex engineering workstreams, provide technical direction across multiple projects and mentor junior engineers. You will play a key role in delivering innovative automation equipment from early concept through to installation and customer handover.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take ownership of complex mechanical engineering work packages and provide technical leadership across projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading concept development, feasibility studies and early-stage engineering projects
• Owning complex mechanical design packages, assemblies and detailed engineering solutions
• Leading design reviews, FMEA, reverse builds and technical analysis
• Identifying and managing technical and commercial risks
• Overseeing procurement, supplier management and technical queries
• Leading testing strategies, structured problem solving and root cause analysis
• Reviewing and approving project documentation
• Leading qualification and validation activities, including protocol execution and reporting
• Managing engineering changes, impact assessments and document control
• Supporting RAMS, shipping, installation and customer site activities
• Representing engineering in customer meetings and technical discussions
• Providing technical support and leadership across multiple projects
• Mentoring and developing engineers and apprentices
• Ensuring projects are delivered to agreed cost, time and quality requirements

About You

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in automation, special-purpose machinery or a similar engineering environment.

You will ideally have:

• A recognised degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 8 years' post-graduate engineering experience
• Experience delivering automation systems within regulated industries
• Strong mechanical design and development experience, including hands-on build and process development
• Advanced CAD design experience
• Strong knowledge of FMEA and structured problem-solving techniques
• Experience with supplier management and procurement
• Knowledge of process validation and statistical analysis
• Strong customer-facing and client engagement skills
• Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills
• The ability to lead technical workstreams and mentor less experienced engineers

Desirable Experience

• Chartered Engineer status or working towards CEng
• Experience within pharmaceutical, medical device or other regulated environments
• Knowledge of GAMP, GMP and ISO standards
• Cross-disciplinary knowledge across mechanical, electrical and software engineering
• Experience leading small projects or engineering teams
