Job Description
At Verterra Energy, we're on a mission to harness the power in the world's rivers, canals, and oceans. To accomplish this, we are commercializing our first device called VOLTURNUS, a pioneering water-power technology that deploys in harmony with the current to capture baseline, zero-emission electricity. Backed by top-tier investors and a multi-year contract with the Department of Defense, we are growing our team to help achieve our mission.
We are looking for individuals who can hit-the-ground-running and execute on their own as well as being a part of a growing team.
Verterra Energy is looking for a senior mechanical engineer who can combine a comprehensive understanding of the product development process with a passion for solving challenging problems in challenging environments. In this position, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will contribute to numerous phases of product design, development, prototyping, manufacturing, and operational support. This position will play a critical part in Verterra Energy’s novel modular hydropower technology development process and will transition successful concepts through prototyping and into production.
The successful candidate will be responsible for component and subsystem mechanical design and engineering, analysis, validation and performance testing, systems integration, part prototyping, assembly, along with on-site installation, in-field commissioning and operation, and related activities. They will have practical experience with product development processes for mechanical systems and possess a curious and thoughtful mind with a passion for engineering, a strong “hands-on” mechanical aptitude, and can quickly adapt to evolving timelines and objectives.
