Job description
Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer • Reading or Oxford • Permanent • £55,000 plus car allowance

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a design team delivering detailed design
  • Liaise with structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors within in-house and external project teams
  • Attend project group and technical meetings
  • Ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems meet legislative and health and safety requirements
  • Advise clients and architects on energy use and conservation to minimise environmental impact and reduce carbon footprint
  • Design site-specific equipment as required
  • Oversee and supervise the installation of building systems and specify maintenance and operating procedures
  • Use CAD and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project
Skills and Qualifications
  • Accredited Building Services degree or higher; significant experience in a similar role
  • Ideally chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status
  • Excellent communicator who can articulate complicated issues between clients and project teams
  • Ambitious with willingness to learn; demonstrates high diligence and organisational skills
